What I’m Thankful for This Thanksgiving Day

What I’m Thankful for This Thanksgiving Day

Each year, my family goes around the dinner table and says what they are thankful for. It’s a great tradition, and something we should really do every day. There is a lot I have to be thankful for, not least of which is starting Let Me Organize It earlier this year. I have been an organizer all my life, but more professionally since 2012, although not full time. I could not have taken such a big step with the support and guidance I received, and for that I am also thankful.

Being a Professional Organizer is very rewarding. Not necessarily when I’m elbow deep in stacks of paperwork or in a garage full of dust (or worse), but always at the end of a project, when I can see the relief, satisfaction, and happiness on my client’s face. I’m in the business of helping people; helping them do what they cannot do on their own. I’m able to provide happiness and a sense of relief through order. People don’t believe it until they experience it themselves. For all of this I am thankful.

I’m thankful that I get to work with different people each day. I get to make a human connection and improve a life with each session. With each client, I am faced with a unique challenge. Don’t get me wrong, there are days I too feel overwhelmed, but I take the challenge on one piece at a time, until the project is done. I’m thankful I have the patience, focus, and drive to do what I do.

I’m thankful for each and every one of my clients. It can be nerve wracking to have a stranger come into your home and go through your belongings, but they always welcome me. My clients are very loyal, they share their lives with me, and some even share their very personal stories with me. I’m thankful that they feel such a strong connection with me to do so. And in turn, my clients teach me something every day, and for that I am also thankful.

So this Thanksgiving Day I’m thankful for my clients, my business, and the fact that each day I get to work with great people, and the end result is making their lives better. What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving Day?
