14 Oct LMOI Giveaway: Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up
It’s likely that you’ve already heard of Japanese Organizing Guru Marie Kondo and her #KonMari method of organizing, but if not, you’re in for a treat!
2015 has been the year of Marie Kondo here in the US. She’s been all over television, in newspapers and magazines, and all over social media! Kondo has been organizing and writing books on the subject for years in her native Japan, and her book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up has been on the New York Time’s Best-Seller list for the last 49 weeks (primarily in the #1 spot). Needless to say, Kondo has sparked joy with many readers. She’s even been called ‘The Beyonce of Organizing’ and her book has been referred to as the Decluttering Bible.
What makes Kondo’s book so accessible is how inspirational it is. I’ve had several clients tell me how they couldn’t wait to organize after reading her book. Kondo breaks down organizing principles, making it easier for people to organize on their own. I agree with a lot of what she shares in the book. My one note of caution for Americans reading this book, is to not fully take her advice on paperwork. We must, by law, retain paper copies of certain documents, so make sure you do some research before organizing your paperwork (better yet – call an organizer!). I find this article helpful and share it with clients.
Kondo has clearly struck a chord with the people, and her book is encouraging a massive movement to get organized – something I’m obviously on board with. Interested in winning a copy of this book? Enter our giveaway – and be sure to share with friends:
If you’ve read Kondo’s book, we want to hear from you! Leave us a comment about what you loved, or even what you didn’t love, about The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up.
Stay tuned to the blog in the next few months! We have a few more giveaways coming up before the end of the year, and they’re only going to get bigger and better!

Posted at 22:11h, 28 OctoberKaren – thanks for sharing. It can definitely feel overwhelming. Break it down and just try one of her tips at a time. Otherwise it feels overwhelming to do it all at once. Her method is not for everyone. Keep me posted on how your second attempt goes!
